Geometry

The following are lessons and success criteria. In order for your students to be successful in each chapter, they need to be able to do each piece of the success criteria.

Below is a video progression for our geometry unit and other helpful math videos. Below are also answer keys to your student's book work please click on the PDF files on the bottom of the pages.

Lesson 30: Points, Lines, Rays, and Angles

  • I can identify 2-dimensional figures and their attributes.

  •  I can draw 2-dimensional figures.

  • I can compare and contrast the 2-dimensional figures.

  • I can identify and draw points, lines, line segments, rays, and angles.

  • I can recognize an angle as a geometric figure.

  • I can identify acute, right and obtuse angles.

  • I can identify and draw parallel and perpendicular lines, and identify them in 2-dimensional figures.

Lesson 31: Angles

  • I can identify acute, right and obtuse angles.

  • I can recognize an angle as a geometric figure.

  • I can describe 360 degrees as a full circle.

  • I can recognize the relationship between the measure of the angle and the part of a circle that angle turns through.

  • I can use a protractor to measure and angle.

  • I can use a protractor to draw an angle.

Lesson 32: Add and Subtract with Angles

  • I can identify acute, right and obtuse angles.

  • I can recognize an angle as a geometric figure.

  • I can recognize that an angle can be decomposed into several smaller angles.

  • I can add and subtract to find the angles measurements.

  • I can use a diagram to ding the unknown angle measurements.

Lesson 33: Classify 2 Dimensional Figures

  • I can sort figures based on parallel or perpendicular sides and angles.

  • I can recognize and classify triangles based on their sides and angles.

  • I can name triangles based on their angles.

  • I can identify and draw quadrilaterals based on parallel and perpendicular lines, and identify them in 2-dimensional figures.
